Pre-Care Instructions for Laser Hair Removal

Thank you for considering us for your laser hair removal journey! Before we begin, it’s important to set realistic expectations and ensure you’re well-prepared for the best results. Laser hair removal is highly effective, but preparation and understanding are key.

Start Small, Build Up Gradually.

We recommend focusing on fewer zones at the beginning rather than treating your entire body at once. There’s nothing better than building up sessions instead of cutting back due to a lack of results.

We pride ourselves on transparency. During your consultation, we’ll give you an honest opinion about what will work for you. Certain areas may not respond well to laser treatment, especially if you have vellus (peach fuzz) hairs on zones like upper thighs, arms, back, or stomach. These hairs are not treatable and will not disappear permanently.

Zones like lower legs, underarms, bikini area, and forearms generally respond much better due to their darker and thicker hair. However, we want to be clear that blonde, red, and grey hairs cannot be treated by laser—not with our device or any current laser technology on the market. Don’t be misled by ads that claim otherwise.

Understanding the Reality of
Laser Hair Removal.

It’s crucial to know that not all zones will reach complete hairlessness.
For example:

  • Underarms and the inner bikini area tend to produce
moisture, which can make it harder to achieve a 100% hair-free result.

  • These areas often develop vellus hairs (soft, fine hairs) after treatment, which cannot be treated further but are far less noticeable and won’t bother you anymore.

Also, if you naturally have ashy brown or dark grey hair instead of jet black, your final result may be vellus hair rather than complete hair removal. This is still a huge improvement compared to shaving, which causes stubble, irritation, and discoloration.

Laser Hair Removal is Permanent…
But Maintenance is Key

Laser hair removal is permanent hair reduction, not complete removal for life. Even after completing all sessions, you’ll need maintenance sessions to stay hair-free. We make sure every client understands this from the start, so you know what to expect.

Your results will be unique to you. Don’t compare yourself to friends or family—everyone’s hair genetics are different. We can assess your hair during your consultation and give you a clear picture of what to expect. If you’re unsure about certain areas, feel free to contact us or send a photo for advice.

How to prepare for your session:

1. Shave 48 Hours Before Your Session

This ensures your skin is ready and gives time for any irritation or redness to subside. The slight regrowth allows the laser to detect the pigment in your hair.

2. No Deodorant or Lotion on Treatment Areas

Deodorant and lotion can block the laser’s effectiveness. If you’re wearing deodorant when you arrive, please remove it before your session to avoid delays.

3. Read the Aftercare Instructions in Advance

Knowing what’s required after your session can help you decide if laser hair removal is right for you. Aftercare plays a significant role in achieving the best results.

Why preparation is important:

While there’s plenty of information online about how laser hair removal works, our role is to be your expert guide. Your role is to follow the pre-care and aftercare instructions carefully. We emphasize this strongly to ensure you’re informed and confident every step of the way.
