After-Care Instructions for Laser Hair Removal
Thank you for choosing us! We want to remind you of one key point: aftercare is almost 90% of your final result. What we do during your session is important, but it’s only 10% of the success. The real work happens at home, with proper care and attention to your skin.
Here are our most important aftercare tips for a successful treatment:
1. The First 48 Hours
No deodorant or showering on treated areas to avoid irritation. Yes, even water can reduce the effectiveness of the laser.
Don’t worry if the hairs are still visible during the first week, that’s completely normal!
2. From Week 2: Time to Start Scrubbing
Scrubbing is absolutely essential for achieving optimal results. Without it, hairs won’t detach from the skin, and you won’t experience smooth, hair-free skin between sessions. This can lead to ingrown hairs and inflammation. Scrubbing helps loosen the hair follicles, and you’ll notice smoother skin from the second session onward.
What to use for scrubbing?
Anything that fits your budget! A simple exfoliating glove from Kruidvat works perfectly. Want to try a special product? We offer ROOSY Scrubs (€15), developed by a clinic in Antwerp to care for your skin after laser treatment. But remember, the technique is more important than the product! Scrub properly, and you’re halfway to achieving your desired result.
Why scrubbing is so important:
We notice a significant difference between clients who start scrubbing well from session 1 and those who begin later.
Start scrubbing early? You’ll often be able to extend the interval between sessions from session 2 or 3 because your skin becomes hair-free much faster.
Start too late? You might realize halfway through that you’ve wasted time and sessions by not following the aftercare correctly. So, make sure to start scrubbing from the beginning!
3. Shaving Between Sessions
Avoid it as much as possible! Shaving can reactivate soft peach fuzz, creating new roots. The less you shave, the better your result will be.
If you must shave, it may affect your sessions and final result.
